3.80-4.01 M33 Ultimate Thread!!
Okay, this must be installed from atleast 3.52 M33. 3.52 M33 can only be installed from an existing CFW, which can only be installed from 1.50 or using a Pandora. IF YOU HAVE AN UNMODIFIED PSP WITH OVER 3.50, THEN SOL!!!!! For more details READ STICKIES!!!!

3.80 M33
Downloading File
Download from Mirror

Preparing Files
Unzip the archive. WinXP, Vista and most Linux (Including (K, G,X)Ubuntu have built in ZIP support. For Win98 and older use 7-Zip File Manager. Take the 3.80 M33 Eazy Installer - MPG187 folder and put it on let's say the desktop.
Upgrading to 3.80 M33
From the folder we copied extract the "1 3.80 M33" folder and make your Memory Stick's Root Folder match it. So there should be PSP/GAME/UPDATE and the files in that folder.
Exit USB or Take Card out of Card Reader and put back in PSP. In xMB goto memory stick game. Run the update. It will have a black screen with White Writing and then goto the Sony 3.80 M33 updater. From here act like installing OFW. IT WILL STILL INSTALL M33 AND NOT OFFICIAL FIRMWARE!!
1.50 Homebrew
As of 3.60 M33 there is no 1.50 kernel. The reason is at the current time it cannot be ran on Slim PSPs. So phat PSP users have to install it seperate. Slim users upgrade Homebrew to the new kernel (makes use of Slim's extra memory!) or use Noobz team eLoader which is a program that runs under the new kernel (including slim) which attempt to run 1.50 in user mode which runs most homebrew (things that emulate UMD/ISO dont work).
If you own a slim or dont intend to use 1.5 homebrew skip this section. Other wise:
Make the "2 1.50 Kernel" folder reflect the root just like in the previous step. Once again from the xMB run the file. This will remove Korean Font and Location free player (Oh no the most commonly used features, no thing that increases homebrew compatibility is worth that!) to free space so it can add the 1.5 kernel.
Upgrade to 3.80 M33-4
At the time I am making this the latest version is 3.80 M33-4 (3.80 M33-2 and 3 were made but I wasnt around, they are skipped, if you need them goto dark-alex.org).
Once again make the folder to the root, this time use the "3 M33-4 Update" folder. In that folder is PSP/GAME/UPDATE so we have to delete the UPDATE folder from the first section/3.80 M33 upgrade.
Save Time
Since the 3.80 M33 upgrade and M33-4 upgrade use PSP/GAME/UPDATE once has to use the first one, delete the folder and put the M33-4 files in, you can put on the 3.80 M33-4 update and the 1.50 kernel on the MS while on USB and then run them both, come back and then apply the M33-4 files and upgrade then.

3.71 M33 Eazy Installer
For even older firmware, goto that thread and check the links there.
3.90 M33

Follow the same directions as 3.80 M33 except use "1 3.90 M33 Update" instead of "1 3.80 M33" and "2 150 Kernel" instead of "2 1.50 Kernel" (I guess I used the decimal that time!...)
3.90 M33-3 Update
1. Download This file (CRC: 14956A22, password: "wikipediasucks" one word, no quotes)
2. If you dont have 3.90 M33 then put the files on for the 3.90 M33 Eazy Installer above (make it represent the root). If you already have 3.90 M33 skip this step, if you dont do this step then the next one.
3. If already on 3.90 M33 make the folder there called "root" represent the root of your memory stick and just run the update from the xMB (If you had to do step 3 then overwrite the files.
This can be done on 3.52 M33-3 and up, if under that then you have to goto that.

yeah M33-5 came out after i released this...
and it took me a while to get it done. Des.Cemetery 4 installs it directly, it will be released soon...

I made an Eazy Installer but never uploaded it, It's uploaded but I never posted the link cuz I never tested it, but I did and now know it works and why I was having trouble (msipl.bin). I will be posting my knowledge shortly...

I'm hoping to upgrade my psp, hopefully to this cf but mine is only at 3.52 m33 and currently is not playing homebrew games for whatever reason. I think there was a patch I was supposed to load onto it but I never did. It does everything a normal psp does but the version still reads 3.52 m33. can I upgrade to this 3.8 m33 cf directly?
please lmk, I'm going through withdrawl without my homebrew.

Hi Guys been awhile I have just been looking of late an it would seem a lot of updates have been put out since I was here last I'm still running 3.40 oe-a witch I thought sucked as it semi bricked my psp question is now witch way do I go from here link's to easy loaders would be great thanks...

I remember you! Hey howz it goin'?
You need to upgrade to 3.52 M33 first.
M33 is OE, DaX retired then the M33 team came out, then Dax came back and told everyone he was M33 and he would make the 150 addon for 3.71 M33 and something else then leave again, but he never did and made 3.80 M33 and its addons and updates and today I found that 3.90 M33 is out....

I am in second semester grade 12 and might take a college course...
There should be a link to 3.52 in this thrad, if not in the 3.71 M33 thread which is linked to here... (It is made by Mudbone and not me)
EDIT: I checked, the very first link I made in this thread is it! Where it says you need 3.52 M33!

Ok so im new to all this upgrade business and you guys seem to have the answers, finally. I just bought a psp slim that already has the 3.80 official firmwire on it. What do i need to do to play dumped games from my memory stick? I have the umd dumping software, i have the 3.80m33 version5 download but don't know how to install it onto my psp. I also don't have access to a psp fat. Do i need to pandorize my psp and can i do it just with my slim?
I know its a lot of questions but im hopeing someone can help. Cheers.

What games are you trying to play? UMD's? If you are trying to play ISO/CSO/homebrew on a PSP with official firmware it will not work.
You need pandora battery to downgrade thsi firmware

Hi, just to check anyone encounter when u tried to upgrade from 3.52 m33-4 to 3.9 when i run the update , it just give me a blank black screen and then it shutsdown my psp . i tried to upgrade it to 3.71 or 3.8 give me the same result
